Hiking around Kardamyli (Mani)

Trail near Kardamyli to the Viros Gorge
A nice trail starting in Kardamyli, going past Hagia Sophia to the Viros Gorge coming from the Taygetos mountains.

If you want to hike in the Mani (South Peloponnese, Greece), there are plenty of options. This picture was taken near Kardamyli (the starting point). From there we went up to Hagia Sophia (a nice little church) and then walked alongside the Viros Gorge to the monastery Moni Sotiros. From there on we hiked through the Viros Gorge (a dry river bed, at least in the dry summer months) back to Kardamyli.

The Viros Gorge starts at the foot of Profitis Ilias, the highest peak (2404m or 2407m) of the Taygetos Mountains.

Kamari at Santorini

Kamari is very popular amongst tourists visiting Santorini. It has a long, dark beach with a lot of nice taverns. This picture, showing a fantastic view over Kamari and large parts of the island of Santorini, was taken from a mountain a little south of Kamari. On this mountain you can find the excavations of Ancient Thera. This picture was taken from roughly 300m above sea level.

Santorini – Oia at Night

At Oia in the northern part of the Island Santorini, you can perfectly enjoy the sunset. But even after the sunset you have a splendid view on large parts of this great island of volcanic origin. In the foreground lies Oia and along the caldera many other small villages follow, all with a nice view over the Aegean Sea. The illumination, combined with the last natural light in the evening give this picture a special atmosphere.

Krifi Ammos at Skiathos

At Skiathos, a very beautiful Island at the Sporades, Greece, you can find a lot of beautiful beaches. But Krifi Ammos, called the “Hidden Beach”, certainly is a special beach. It is a rather small beach in a small bay. And you have to walk a little bit to get there, so it is rather quiet, especially off season.

Skiathos Town

Skiathos from above. From this place on a hill in the center of the city there is a beautiful view over the capital of the island Skiathos with the same name. This city is full of life, but life is very relaxed. So you can stroll through the city, you can go clubbing or just chill and relax, everything is ok.

Endless beach of Evia (Euboea)

This phenomenal beach is situated on the northern part of the island Euboea, Greece. It is the second largest island of Greece. This beach starts to the south of Limni, goes around Katounia (where you can find a tavern) and stretches out for some kilometers. It is a very nice walk along the beach and as there are almost no tourists, you can enjoy tranquillity anywhere you like.
