The island of Poros is situated in the Saronic Gulf and belongs to the group of Saronic Islands. There is a connection by ferry to Galatas at the Peloponnese with high frequency. The Island of Poros has a surface area of 31km² and consists of two parts. The part where the city of Poros is situated is of vulcanic origin.
